Parent Education Workshops
Parents play a vital role in supporting their children with Learning Disorders (LDs) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders (ADHD) so they can learn the strategies and skills their children need to succeed in school. In our workshops, experienced Resource Teachers present theory and case studies. The instructor demonstrates specific skills and strategies that parents can use to build on the child’s identified strengths and assist the child in compensating for any weaknesses. These are followed by practical applications through group discussions and role-play that involve parent participation. Through this process, parents understand their children’s learning problems (in handwriting, spelling, reading, and math) and learn strategies and skills to support them at school and at home.
‘Nishchay’ – Parent Support Group
Parents of children with LDs and ADHD formed this group to create a supportive environment in which they can share apprehensions, discuss strategies, and celebrate successes. Resource Teachers share their expertise on learning disorders and ADHD, and offer particulars of statutory regulations issued by the Government.
