Phonics Reading Program for Sindaphana Public School
To initiate the new academic year 2023-24 the phonics reading program’s training was organized for pre-primary and primary teachers. The training held at Sindaphana public school, located at Majalgaon Beed. It’s the pioneer school in AMF’s Technically assisted Project.
The training was planned on 2nd and 3rd June 2023. 12 teachers from pre-primary and primary section have attended the training. This Program is a systematic and self-sufficient early reading-based program typically for children aged 3-8 years. It is designed to teach reading and to build reading success through a comprehensive, structured and spiraling curriculum. The program consists of a comprehensive and multisensory set of learning tools that ensure a child’s reading success. This program can be offered to students starting as young as in Nursery to 2nd standard. The program teaches:
- Phonological Awareness
- Reading
- Handwriting
- Reading fluency
- Oral Language/Vocabulary
- Spelling
- Reading Comprehension
The training covered Basic concepts of phonics reading program, Orange level and Blue level, and phonics reading program’s assessment.
During the two days of training theoretical concept teaching was followed by the practical demonstration of the course conductions. The different activities from the program were practiced together. The teachers were asked to model the lesson to get the hold of material utility as well as task conduction.
Overall, the training went well as per the planner. Soon the Sindaphana public school will start teaching students using this program as an effective tool.
